We hope you’ve all had a great summer! Here at Subrite, spring and summer have been both active and productive.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to help you grow subscription sales and deliver great customer experiences. Subrite is designed to let you run a subscription business on par with the very best—without needing a big team or huge budgets.

Few things make us happier than seeing you gain more subscribers and increase your revenue. That’s why we put so much focus on building tools that are simple to use, help you connect with your customers, and give your subscribers little nudges in the right direction.

Every month we roll out hundreds of updates—some small, some big. We balance new feature development, improvements to existing functionality, bug fixes, and infrastructure upgrades.

Here’s a look at what we’ve shipped over the past months:

Newsletters and SMS Campaigns

Subrite now includes a complete suite for newsletters and SMS. With just a few clicks, you can communicate with current, former, and potential subscribers.

Some highlights:

  • Send to precise segments (e.g. “active subscribers with a specific product renewing within 30 days”).
  • Full newsletter support, including subscriptions/unsubscriptions, images, links, buttons, and emojis.
  • Send directly from Subrite or straight from an article in your CMS.
  • RSS-driven newsletters.
  • Campaign statistics.
  • Schedule campaigns in advance.
  • Import recipients yourself.
  • Multiple templates and sender options.
  • Integration with Make (in addition to Mailchimp).
  • Choose between email and SMS.

E-invoicing and EHF

E-invoicing (efaktura/Avtalegiro) and EHF are now fully live in Subrite. Over 30,000 efaktura have already been sent through the platform.

Functionality includes:

  • Efaktura, Avtalegiro, and EHF distribution.
  • Automatic OCR payment matching.
  • Invoice and payment reports.
  • Fallback delivery via email and manual handling.
  • Subscription upgrades and downgrades from both My Page and admin.
  • Automated payment reminders.
  • Credit notes, refunds, open items, and other accounting logic.

Gift subscriptions are also supported with e-invoicing—perfect as we get closer to December, the big gifting season!

Push Notifications

Beyond email and SMS, you can now send push notifications directly from Subrite. This helps you drive engagement with your app, both for paying members and for potential subscribers.

Customization and Multi-Brand Support

We want Subrite to be simple and flexible. That’s why you can now configure fonts, colors, images, and logic directly in admin under /admin/account-settings/settings/brand-kits.

For customers managing multiple brands, it’s now possible to create several brand profiles, set up multiple “My Pages,” and even sell subscriptions across brands.

Smarter Subscription Sales

We’ve added several features to help you sell more subscriptions:

  • Passive users: Non-subscribers visiting My Page will now be nudged to sign up.
  • Win-back via SMS: For Vipps customers who’ve canceled, you can send reactivation links via SMS.
  • Introductory campaigns: Flexible product packages now support fixed end dates. For example, “399 NOK for the rest of the year.”
  • Domain-based access: Everyone with the same email domain can log in—ideal for corporate subscriptions.

Other Improvements

  • Automatic extension of subscriptions on overpayment.
  • Discounted pricing for individual subscribers.
  • Easier family member invitations (with search).
  • New “Ignored” status for open payments in the accounting module.
  • Edit payment dates for efaktura/EHF.
  • One-time API for resending missing efaktura.
  • Reference fields on invoice addresses.
  • Company names on invoices, with helper text for clarity.
  • More logical handling of names across lists and overviews.

Infrastructure and Performance

Some of our largest customers now run Subrite with more than 50,000 active subscribers. That has given us the chance to stress test infrastructure properly—handling thousands of invoices in minutes and hundreds of simultaneous logins.

Much of this work isn’t visible, but it ensures uptime, stability, and fast load speeds.

Looking Ahead

At Subrite, we set the bar high. Built by media people for media people, Subrite is developed together with you—our customers. Thank you for all your feedback and insights!

We’re working to capture all our collective knowledge about subscriptions, sales, CRM, customer service, and member engagement—so you get the tools you need to work efficiently every day. And we’re not stopping here—more improvements are on the way soon.
