# Step 3: Set display rules

**Summary:** Choose what makes the widget appear (time on page, scroll depth or exit intent), where it is placed, how often it can show again and which pages of your website show it.

Configure when and how your email widget appears to visitors with advanced trigger conditions and placement options.

## Overview

The Display Rules tab controls widget behavior, appearance, trigger conditions, and website targeting.

## Trigger configuration

<a id="time-based-triggers"></a>
### Time-based triggers

- **Trigger After Elapsed Time**: Show the widget after the visitor has been on the page for a specified duration
- **Configuration**: Set the delay in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months
- **Implementation**: The timer starts on page load and works on desktop and mobile

### Scroll-based triggers

- **Trigger on Page Scroll**: Activate when the visitor scrolls a certain percentage of the page
- **Configuration**: Set a scroll threshold from 0 to 100%
- **Implementation**: Triggers when the threshold is reached and works on desktop and mobile

### Exit intent triggers

- **Trigger on Exit Intent**: Detect when the visitor appears to be leaving the page
- **Desktop**: Monitors cursor movement and triggers when the mouse leaves the top of the page
- **Mobile**: Monitors touch events and detects upward swipes

### Trigger combinations

- **Time + Scroll**: Show after the time delay OR the scroll threshold
- **Time + Exit**: Show after the time delay OR exit intent
- **Scroll + Exit**: Show after the scroll threshold OR exit intent
- **All Three**: Show when any trigger condition is met

- **Center Position**: The widget appears in the middle of the screen
- **Bottom Left Position**: The widget appears in the bottom-left corner (bottom on mobile)
- **Bottom Right Position**: The widget appears in the bottom-right corner (bottom on mobile)

- **Show Again After Interval**: Control how often the widget can appear to the same visitor
- **Configuration**: Set the frequency in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months

- **Primary Domain**: Your main website domain
- **Page Targeting**:
  - **All Pages**: Show the widget on every page of the website
  - **Specific Pages**: Target only certain pages or sections (include and exclude options)
